THE LOBO MIX

Posted by Matthew in ,

I haven't made a mix in a long time. So I thought I would throw together some sweet little diddy's. I like swiffering to this mix or cooking in the kitchen. It's also suitable for the beach or BBQ type settings . You'll hear some fun tracks from Miike Snow, Daedalus, The Dirty Projectors , and more! Enjoy!

a couple videos to start your day...

Shabu Shabu Sundays

*Play the track at the bottom while you read   this....

Sunday night I ate Shabu Shabu. It had been a long while since I've had it. I like interactive dinner. Cooking your food at the table right before you eat it is always fun and entertaining. It was me, Erika, Justin and Amy. Sunday Funday : Couples Edition.

We had enjoyable conversations while cooking our meats and drinking large Sapporos. The steam from both pots  wafted towards me giving me a nice old steam clean. I think my pores got a nice lil' treat. Peter the waiter forgot about us and started closing while we sat there waiting for our check. It was kind of weird because no one else was in there and they had flipped over the Open/Closed sign on the entrance door.

After dinner we all agreed that it was still pretty early and that we should pop into the karaoke bar down the street for "just one song". It was actually pretty nostalgic as this is the same karaoke bar Erika and I had our first date at.  Please note that Neil Diamond is the ultimate aphrodisiac.

Justin started with some "Man in the Mirror" which got the attention of the regulars sitting at the bar. He brought it down with a lil scatting ala MJ style. The mood was set after that and of course "just one song" became more like 20 songs.

It was the best Sunday in recent history and I hope to have many more like it.

I'm on a YACHT

Posted by Matthew

I read Pitchfork this morning and read the review of the new YACHT album. I then went to Hype Machine and listened to the track called "Psychic City". I don't understand what a psychic city is. But I like the " aye yee aye yee ayeeee yeeeeeee" and when she sings " Hang around baby, baby...we'll be baking a cake for you". These are the type of songs that go on BBQ and Beach Day mixes.  I can see myself cleaning my room to this song too.

My friend if he was part Wolf part Man

Beth at my work does wonderful drawings of our co-workers if they were dogs. This is my friend Chris as a 95% WOLF 5% MAN. I was thinking he was more of a beagle. Play the song below while you look at the picture of Chris.

I will post my dog picture soon.

*Please note that personality, body type, and general likeness are taken into account when dog breed is chosen.
